HELLOWEEN [┗ロック列伝]
Helloween(ハロウィン)
1984年にドイツのハンブルクで結成されたジャーマンメタルバンド。現在のメロディックスピードメタル（メロスピ）のサウンドとイメージを作り上げた。
このバンドを知ったのは98年ごろだったか・・・寮に同期で外国部の萩原が入寮、彼のお勧めHRの一つとして紹介してくれたのが、このハロウィンであり、『MASTER OF THE RINGS』というCDアルバムだった。
重量感のあるサウンドは結構好きなので、気に入ってしまいCDも何枚か購入。
入社（社会人になって）以来、メタル・ハードロックのCDを買ったのはこの時が初めてじゃないかな（10年振り）
それだけ、それまでカラオケに夢中で、日本の歌ばかり聴いていた頃だったからな～(^_^;)
B'zとかミスチル、福山雅治とかね。
先日、大学時代の後輩とカラオケに行った時、彼はこのハロウィンをたくさん歌っていて。
俺以上に嵌まっていたようで・・・笑、俺はそこまで聴き込んでいなかったな～汗
まっ、そんな思い出があるバンドである。
初期（Voがカイ・ハンセンの時代）は、ゴリゴリした狂暴なサウンドのギターリフと疾走するドラムが最大の特徴。それに加えカイ自身の「魔女のような歌声」と「アーライッ！」に代表されるハイトーンシャウトが載せられ、ポピュラーさよりもパワフルさ重視の典型的なヘヴィメタル楽曲が揃っていた。
中期・・・キスクの加入により、よりポップなエッセンスも注入、カイとヴァイカートのツインリードによる流麗で重厚なギター・ソロ、ツーバス・ドラムによる疾走感のある曲にキスクの声量豊かな突き抜けるハイトーン・ボーカルがこだまする。
1994年、アンディ・デリスになり、音楽性はメロディアス・パワー・メタルに回帰、前の二人の良さを併せ持ったアンディのヴォーカルも評価を得、再び人気が出た。その後は激しいメンバーチェンジを経て今に至っている。
