Geddy Lee　ゲディー・リー（ベース、ボーカル、キーボード）、Alex Lifeson　アレックス・ライフソン（ギター）、Neil Peart　ニール・パート（ドラムス、パーカッション）3人からなるカナダのプログレッシブ・ロック・バンド。
カナダのグラミー賞に当たる音楽賞の代表Juno Awardを幾度か受賞

３人で演奏しているとは思えない重厚感は圧巻である。



●べースのリーは、ハイトーン・ヴォイスでメロディアスな歌を唄いながら常人には到底弾けそうもないベース・フレーズを弾き、更にキーボードも弾くマルチぶり。ドラムスのパートは、パワフルでテクが凄く迫力満点である。
このベースをよく練習したよ。でもなかなか巧く弾けなくてね＾＾；
「YYZ」なんかドラムスと一緒に遊んだりして…。

●初期はツェッペリンを意識したようなハードなロック、次第にプログレっぽくなり、ヒットを狙ったような短い曲を作ったり、まぁバラエティ溢れる曲が多い。しかし、彼ら３人が奏でるサウンドはまさにラッシュそのもの。一人でも欠けたらラッシュらしさはなくなるんではと思わせる。
初めて聴いたアルバムは「ライヴ～神話大全」だったが、もう格好良くて…

「タイム　スタンド　スティル」　懐かしい・・・
演奏力の高さは折り紙つきでしたね。
もっとブレイクしてもおかしくはなかったんだが・・・

このバンドも語り出したら長いですね。
20才くらいの時に友達に勧められて"Moving~"からハマりました。
以来コピーなんておよそ出来ないにも関わらず聞き込んでますね。
技術の真骨頂がライブ版ですかね。
"Exit~"は文句なしに名盤だけど、年取っても腕が落ちてない"Live In Rio"もすごいっす。
"YYZ"や"Tom Sawyer"といったおなじみどころももちろんだけど、
"Natural Science"や"La Villa Strangiato"には圧倒されっぱなしです。

その頃から社会人になり聴かなくなったので、これから少しずつ楽しもうと思ってます。

私もその頃から・・・。ちゃんと弾いている気分でコピー練習してましたね＾＾；
ライブで再現できない音・演奏のLPは作らないという頑固さ（？）も秘訣なんでしょうか。
